Instructions

  1. Spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toast.
  2. On the first slice, layer half the turkey, a lettuce leaf, and two tomato slices. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Top with a second slice of toast (mayo side down, then spread mayo on the top side too).
  4. Layer the bacon, remaining lettuce, and remaining turkey on top of that slice.
  5. Cap with the final slice of toast, mayo side down.
  6. Secure with toothpicks, slice diagonally into quarters, and serve.

Toast the bread right before assembling - it keeps the layers from turning soggy once the tomato juices start to run.
