Tender strips of beef and crisp broccoli in a glossy soy-garlic sauce, ready faster than delivery would arrive.
★★★★½ 4.7 out of 5
Instructions
- Toss the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon cornstarch and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk the remaining 2 tablespoons cornstarch with the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and beef broth to make the sauce.
- Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef in a single layer and sear for 1-2 minutes per side, until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add the remaining oil and the broccoli to the pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until bright green and just tender.
- Return the beef to the pan, pour in the sauce, and toss everything together. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything glossy.
- Serve immediately over rice, topped with sesame seeds.
Kitchen tip
Slice the steak while it's still slightly frozen - it firms up the meat just enough to get clean, thin, even slices.
